At STEP2 of our 3 step online booking process, to the right of the car photo of your choice, is a link entitled "IMPORTANT INFORMATION". Click on this link and it will open an additional smaller window, chose PAYMENT where the terms and conditions appertaining to that particular car at your chosen location are displayed. Cash is not accepted. You may wish to try a few different suppliers, as their deposit amounts do vary.

Client

I read you take 4400 AUD just in case + you need 1000 AUD deposit and it cost 119 AUD to hire the car, and you don't accept cash?

Agent

No, cash is not accepted by any car rental supplier. They only take 1000 AUD deposit from your credit card. This would be the maximum for deposit normally ( for example) with supplier East Coast. With Sixt The deposit is 400 AUD

Agent

The deposit is held on your credit card not charged, and released when the vehicle is returned. You just need a card with 1000 AUD maximum. The cost of insurance is approx 25 AUD a day, then you are covered. Look at that insurance section against each supplier:-

This is SIXT's terms for example:- Insurance coverage: Collision damage waiver (CDW): Includes 10% tax; Excess 4,400 AUD Damage excess reduction: 28 AUD per day. Includes 10% tax; Excess 385 AUD Glass/Tyre waiver: 5.5 AUD per day. Includes 10% tax Theft waiver (TW): Includes 10% tax; Excess 4,400 AUD Third party liability protection (TP): Includes 10% tax; Excess 5,500 AUD; Maximum Coverage 30,000,000 AUD The Excess Liability is the amount determined by the car rental supplier for which you can be held liable in case of damage/theft of the vehicle. Damage to or loss of tyres, windscreens, glass and undercarriage may not be covered by the CDW (Collision Damage Waiver). Please check with the rental agent at the desk. If you purchase the Excess Reimbursement Insurance from a third party, the main driver will be required to present their credit card at the rental desk in order for the car rental agent to authorize the deposit.

Client

What about needing the 4400 AUD basic cover, do you charge that and then refund later?

Agent

No. You are talking about insurance excess? This will not be taken from your credit card. In case of damage of the car or an accident this is the maximum amount that you will have to pay. If you take the extra insurance you are covered for the excess.
